As the collective hannsjana, Laura Besch, Jule Gorke, Lotte Schüßler, Katharina Siemann and Marie Weich have been working together since 2011 to develop performances, audio walks and performative educational formats. In doing so, they break with existing assumptions and engage with places and themes in a humorous, poetic, musical and scientific way in order to explain them to themselves and others. In their works, the audience encounters human-animal beings that open up additional levels of meaning and discourse; they hear songs about economics or ornithology, are secretly encouraged to eat in the museum, are given art-historical explanations through aerobics exercises, and are offered the opportunity to become shareholders in a performance. Her work has been shown at the Sophiensælen, the National Theatre Mannheim, the Lucerne Theatre, the Kunstfest Weimar, the Berghain Kantine, Theater Thikwa, the Magdealena Projekt Festival in Montpellier, the Teatro Solís in Montevideo and the Steirischer Herbst in Graz, among others.
@nnast_antn (1989) is a video and performance artist and stage designer. Her film ‘sorry about the saliva ><’ (2019) was shown at the MicroActs Festival in London, GRRL HAUS CINEMA in Berlin and at the Festival Bodies in Trouble at Pact Zollverein Essen. Her performances have been shown at Dirty Debut at Ballhaus Ost, Studio Schaubühne Berlin, as part of Next Wave Theater at Volksbühne Berlin and in the Pogo Bar series at KW Berlin, among others. Together with Josephin Hanke, she is working on the sci-fi series LEADERS*, whose pilot episode was shown at the Filmfest Braunschweig and the REELISM exhibition in roam, Berlin, among others.
Àngela Ribera Adrover, born in Valencia in 1988, studied stage and costume design at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. She has lived in Berlin since 2014 and works as a set designer for musical theatre, experimental performances and cinema productions. She has collaborated with Doris Uhlich, P14-Volksbühne, andcompany& Co, hannsjana, Erika Lust, Swoosh Lieu, Virtuelles Theater and DieOrdnungDerDinge, among others.
Judith Geffert, born in Magdeburg in 1989, is a freelance radio author. She studied literature and theatre studies as well as culture and history of Central and Eastern Europe in Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder). Her work moves at the intersection of journalism, academia and art. Since 2013, she has been producing features, storytelling podcasts and experimental documentaries for Deutschlandradio, rbbkultur and independent radio stations. She is also co-curator of the exhibition ‘Gemeinsam sind wir unerträglich. Die unabhängige Frauenbewegung in der DDR’ (Together we are unbearable. The independent women's movement in the GDR), which opened in Berlin in 2023.
