Overcome yourself!
Independent theatre between empowerment and self-optimisation
20.-23.06.2019, Ringlokschuppen Ruhr
ACADEMY programme approx. 10:00 – 17:00, followed by shuttle to the Impulse SHOWCASE in Düsseldorf

In many places, work is being carried out specifically to improve the working conditions and results of the independent scene through lobbying, evaluation and further education, through critique of existing power relations and feedback techniques in the artistic process. These developments can be understood as the professionalization and empowerment of the independent scene and its actors, but also as an optimization in the competition for funding and program slots. In several days of workshops and during a conference, the Academy examines various dimensions of these current developments and asks how they change the self-image and action of theatre professionals as well as the artistic results.
